To my greatest joy, I am humbled and honored to announce that I have been awarded “The Outstanding Young Person 2025” for Cultural Achievement by Ministry of Youth and Sports — an award that celebrates young entrepreneurs making a difference in Mauritius.

The 39th edition of the Outstanding Young Person (TOYP) Awards was held at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka, where participants were honoured for their remarkable achievements. The TOYP is an international programme that celebrates young individuals making a significant difference in their communities and fields of expertise.

Organised by the Junior Chamber International Mauritius in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Youth Council (NYC), the event aims to formally recognise young leaders who drive positive change and inspire others to follow. The 2025 edition brought together around 200 participants aged 18 to 40 across six categories. The 2025 theme was “Nu Passion Nu Lavenir”.

The winners of the 2025 TOYP are:

Category A – Business, Economic, and/or Entrepreneurial Accomplishment: Mr Ishant Ayadassen

Category B – Contribution to Children, World Peace, and/or Human Rights; Humanitarian and/or Voluntary Leadership: Ms Prisheela Mottee

Category C – Cultural Achievement: Ms Sapna Kissoondoyal

Category D – Personal Improvement and/or Accomplishment; Moral and/or Environmental Leadership: Mr Yovani Ivan Brandon Jordan Philippe

Category E – Academic Leadership and/or Accomplishment; Political, Legal, and/or

Governmental Affairs: Mr Muhammad Shameem Oozeerally

Category F – Scientific and/or Technological Development; Medical Innovation – Ms Sawdah Nooreen Baulacky

The award ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Darmarajen Nagalingum, the Junior Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mrs Karen Foo Kune-Bacha, the Chairperson of the NYC, Mr Shaad Chellapermal, as well as other personalities.

I am deeply grateful to God, to my family, friends, and to all of you — my supporters, near and far — for your endless love and encouragement throughout this journey. This recognition is not just mine, it belongs to all of us who believe in the power of culture, creativity, and perseverance.
